Volunteer Organizations

Several volunteer groups offer their assistance during emergencies. We thank them for their dedication and commitment to society. Listed below are a few of the groups that we call on regularly.

We call on the American Red Cross to help provide basic needs to victims during disaster recovery. Links to local Red Cross chapters are shown here.

The Maryland Responds Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is comprised of healthcare professionals and other community members who are ready to assist in the preparedness, response, and recovery stages of emergencies. Administered by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's Office of Preparedness and Response, the Maryland Responds MRC services all counties and jurisdictions in Maryland.

TROT SAR Teams will respond, at the request from responsible authorities, to assist in urban or wilderness areas, parks, or other undeveloped lands within a 150-mile radius of central Maryland.Operational TROT SAR Teams are highly skilled and meet the National Association of Search and Rescue (NASAR) standards. The TROT SAR Team maintains an active status and has a working partnership with the Maryland Search Team Task Force (MSTTF) and the Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management.
